Passover Wine

While doing research in the archives last summer I kept on coming across references to Passover wine.  That in itself is a story but today I read an article about why Jewish Americans drink a sweet Manischewitz during Passover.  The story is linked to the development of the Concord grape, a grape hardy enough to survive a winter in New England.  The Concord grape provided a cheap source for Jewish Americans when it came to making Passover wine.  The Concord grape makes a very sweet wine, largely because much sugar has to be added to make it palatable.
