Last night I was chatting with a friend and he mentioned Joe Clark. At the time I had no idea who Joe Clark was and my friend told me that Clark was a former Prime Minister of Canada. Clark spent less than a year as Prime Minister, leading a minority Conservative government but his political career continued after losing the vote of no-confidence and subsequently the leadership of the Conservative party. He returned as a cabinet minister under Brian Mulroney in 1984, as Secretary of State for External Affairs.
