Despite having lived in Glasgow for the best part of these past four years (and I mean the best part in every sense) I have not exactly travelled widely around Glasgow. Generally speaking unless it is in the north west or city centre the chances are I have never even been near it. However I vowed that one day I would do a sort of sub-crawl and get off the subway and have a wee look around at each station. So I set off of my underground adventure. I noticed that the signage at
Cessnock was different to all the others. As I now know
Cessnock is the only station to retain its
pre-modernisation signage and livery. I took a photo of it so you can see for yourself. Not only that
Cessnock and
Kelvinhall are the only two stations to retain their
pre-modernisation entryway and surface buildings.
I feel this has something to do with the fact that they both have tenements above them.

In case it isn't obvious from the photo, that is the entrance to
Cessnock subway station.
